INSTRUCTORS


Mr. Roland Dumlao
At the age of 7, Head Instructor/Owner Roland Dumlao began studying Tae Kwon Do under the guidance of Sa Bah Nim Ron Rinker, who studied under the tutelage of Master William Kim (a student of Grandmaster Hae Yun Kim). After spending seven years in the Tae Kwon Do system, Mr. Dumlao then shifted to the Martial Arts style of Armas De Mano.Under the tutelage of Master Nestor Ylagan and Head Instructor Robert DeSimoni, Mr. Dumlao would go on to receive his black belt at the age of 19. Master Ylagan studied Shotokan and Arnis under Grandmaster Villenueva before coming to the United States in 1969. He then furthered his Arnis knowledge under Grandmaster Presas in the Philippines. Mr. Dumlao holds an A.A. degree in Liberal Studies and is a qualified Early Childhood Teacher. He has been working with kids since the age of 15. He has taught karate for more than ten years and worked as a mentor at several after school programs. Some of his accomplishments include running his own summer program and competing in national level sport karate tournaments. He has trained and molded dozens of #1 rated sport karate sparring divisional champions and grand champions since 1999. In 2003, under the rigorous training of Instructor Ernest Frohm, Mr. Dumlao received his 2nd Degree Black Belt in American Karate from Master Daythan Taylor.

Mr. Lando Dumlao
Mr. Lando Dumlao is the adult karate and kata competition coach at Dumlao's Karate. He has trained many sport karate kata champions in the local and national tournament circuit since 1999. He received his martial arts and kata training from Master Nestor Ylagan. His teaching experience includes instruction in adult karate, Arnis, and Kuboton self defense seminars. Come join Mr. Lando Dumlao in our Teen/Adult class Monday,Weds, and Thursday nights. Learn Adult self-defense and experience a whole different aspect of martial arts.


Mr. Sean Dumlao
Mr. Sean Dumlao has more than 10 years teaching experience in the Martial Arts. He studied Tae Kwon Do under Sa Bah Nim Ron Rinker and Armas De Mano under Master Nestor Ylagan. For six years he obtained sparring training from Instructor Jesse Folks. He specializes in youth sparring. At Dumlao's Karate he instructs Dumlao's young Demonstration Team and Youth Sparring Class. Mr. Sean Dumlao will also lead our after school program which starts in November 2005.


Mr. Rogelio Vista Jr.
Mr. Jr. Vista has been in Martial Arts at the age of 13. Started as a human body bag and grew to become a phenomenal instructor. Studied under Jesse Folks,Robert DeSimoni,Master Nestor Ylagan, Lando Dumlao, and various Open Form Instructional videos. He soon departed from Sparring to venture a new style of Martial Arts called Open Forms. He became a #1 ranked competitor and First BlackBelt at Ylagan Martial Arts to achieve AMAPA's grand champion winner in 2000. He is currently teaching at Dumlao Martial arts on Tuesday & Thursday nights developing the First ever Open Forms class. His main focus is to give students a different aspect of martial arts and challenge those that are seeking to fly high.

Mr. Ariel Jacob
A persevering college student. Mr. Jacob has been training in Martial Arts at the age of 11. He has Accomplished many goals in his early Martial Arts career. Wheather it is normal everyday class to the tournament scene, Mr. Jacob has kept a positive attitude towards being a humble martial artist. At this time he will be training for his 1st Degree BlackBelt under Mr.Roland Dumlao. A top competitor in major sport karate league's Mr.Jacob has been training to become a great martial artist in the Bay Area.


Ms. Lenissa Dumlao
Miss Dumlao has been rated #1 in the tournament circuit for several years. Starting at the age of 5. Miss Leanne is in pursuit of her 1st Degree BlackBelt. She has won more 1st place victories as well As Grand Champion trophies than any DMA student. Her hard work and uncanny skills has been her biggest trait. One of the most dominating fighter in California Miss Dumlao is climbing her way back into the tournament scene from a brief break in martial arts. She is currently assisting Mr. Roland Dumlao from time to time in regular classes.


Ms. Jasmine Naraja
Assistant Jasmine Naraja has been in the martial arts scene for numerous years. One of the most anticipated fighters and forms competitors. She has achieved numerous success both in the tournament circuits and at our dojo. She has received her black belt in 2006.


 


Mr. Kyle Sasai
Our youngest junior black belt in Dumlao History. Assistant Kyle Sasai has been a very dedicated and inspirational student. He has been in martial arts since the age of 6 and still pursuing his black belt. One of the most dominating forms and weapons performers in tournament leagues. He has achieved more 1st place victories then most martial artist at his age. You can find Assistant Kyle Sasai at our dojo handing a helping hand and instructing his own students. He credits Mr. Lando Dumlao for numerous amounts of Forms training and Mr. Roland Dumlao for giving him the oppurtunity to become a martial arts instructor.

Assistant Jason Albini
"Da Face", "J-Dogg", "1 part of the Albini brothers" What ever you may want to call Assistant Jason Albini. He has been a humble and inspiring student. Helping build a franchise sparring team Assistant Jason has been saught after by many sponsers. His tremendous fast hands and determined attitude, he has grown to become one of the most feared opponent in the tournament circuit. With all his success, he still strives to become a bay area's best and out doing his older brother Assistant Jamal Albini.


Assistant Jamal Albini
"Young Raymond", "El Gigante", Don't let those long legs fool you. Quick with his feet and as nimble as a mice, Assistant Jamal Albini is one of the leagues premiere fighter. "Uncanny they all say" An aspiring student and competitor, Assistant Jamal Albini has been offering a helping hand to Mr. Roland Dumlao in groups 1,2,3,4. An all around student that is determined to recieving his junior black belt in months to come. He provides alot of energy in sparring sessions and leads by example showing the talents to other students.

Assistant Manny Anaya
I,ve been in this particular style of martial arts for now six years, and during this six years I have studied self defense under Master Ylagan, Grappling with Instructor Robert Desimoni,Arnis with Instructor Lando Dumlao,Karate with Instructor Roland Dumlao and competition sparring with Instructors Roland and Sean Dumlao along with Mr. Renier Vista who has been a great influence in my sparring career. I really enjoy the outdoors, camping,biking,snowboarding or just anything that has to do with the outdoors. My favorite things to do are,Drawing,watching a good action movie walking my dog when I have a chance, but most of all being with my kids is my most precious time. Everyday is an accomplishment for me, to stay healthy, maintain a positive attitude and respect myself and others are my goals for each and every day and I try my best to accomplish each and everyone of them. I thank all of my instructors for the positive influence they have become to me and I thank my kids for pushing me hard all the time.

Assistant Gary Yumang
Gary works as a Gas Turbine Technician in San Leandro. In the year 2000, he became inspired to start sparring after watching the success of his oldest daughter, Loralie. He trained under Roland and Sean Dumlao at Ylagan Martial Arts and eventually became a competitor. Shortly after getting his first Grand Championship trophy in 2001, he suffered a knee injury while training. Still in recovery, he is still trying to get back into the sparring scene. In the meantime he uses his knowledge and skill to help train DMA fighters by assisting Roland and Sean Dumlao with their sparring classes.

Assistant Renier Vista
He began Martial arts at the age of 12, with a local school named Juachen Academy under Master Jim Juachen. There he recieved his Blue Belt before moving over to Ylagan Martial Arts were he was soon training with his Best Friend Mr.Roland Dumlao. Mr.Vista has recieved numerous awards. He was a reigning #1 AMAPA,GoldCup,NASKA & GSKA point fighter in his division for numerous years. In 2003 Mr. Vista took a step back from tournaments to finish school at Hayward State University.
